Paws, Play, and Pampering!
Paws, Play, and Pampering!
By Marissa Howland
Have you ever wondered what your dog does to relax after a long day of fetch, walks, and cuddles?
Just like people, dogs love to feel clean, calm, and happy too! That’s why dog spas exist as special places where our furry friends get treated like royalty.
At a dog spa, pups can enjoy warm baths, gentle brushes, yummy smelling shampoos, and even paw massages.
Some spas in Las Vegas even have swimming pools made just for dogs! It’s like a mini vacation for your pet.
When we take care of our dogs, we’re really saying, “Thank you for being my best friend.”
A clean and happy dog feels healthy, sleeps better, and wags their tail even more.
■ What Happens at a Dog Spa?
A warm bubble bath
A soft brushing and blow dry
Paw cream to make their feet feel smooth
A fun haircut (so they can look their best!)
■ Let’s Play: “Spa Day for My Pet”
Draw or write your own version of a pet spa! What would your dog (or cat) want most?
Bubble bath or massage? Music or squeaky toys? Don’t forget the treats!
(Parents can share photos of your drawings or spa setup with your pet on social media and tag @storiesofperseverancemag!)
■ Did You Know?
Dogs have over 1,700 taste buds (humans have about 9,000).
Most dogs can understand over 100 words!
A happy dog’s tail wags to the right side!
■ Your Turn
When you brush, feed, or walk your dog, say one kind thing out loud to them.
Kind words make tails wag faster and hearts grow bigger.
