How to Sew a Pillow

Sewing a pillow is a fun project you can do with help from an adult. You can make one for yourself or create a special gift for your friends and family.

Step 1: Choose your fabric

Pick a color or pattern you really like. This will be the outside of your pillow.

Step 2: Cut your fabric

Cut two pieces of fabric the same size. You can also cut out a heart or another shape to decorate your pillow.

Step 3: Sew the fabric

Have an adult help you use the sewing machine. Sew the two pieces together slowly and carefully. Remember to leave a small opening.

Step 4: Add the stuffing

Put stuffing inside the pillow until it feels soft and comfortable. You can choose any color stuffing you like.

Step 5: Close the pillow

Have an adult help you sew the opening closed so the stuffing stays inside.

Your pillow is now finished. You can keep it or give it to someone special!
